TSM Users new to AutoVAULT: The 45-day trial includes a full working version of AutoVAULT, which will expire 45 days after the installation, plus an electronic manual.  The trial can be updated to a full working edition of AutoVAULT by purchasing a license key for the application (see purchase information). 

Current AutoVAULT Customers: This download can be unlocked with your present AutoVAULT license key to a full working edition of AutoVAULT (assuming you have paid your yearly maintenance fee).  You can always download the latest version of AutoVAULT from this page.

What to do if your demo key expired:

If you don't own AutoVAULT and you have tested it in the past, your demo key probably has expired. If you wish to try new AutoVAULT 3, please enter the following key when prompted by the installer for your license key. It says to leave the field blank if you are running a demo of the product, but that won't work once the demo key has run its 45 days. he following key will expire on June 1, 2008. Instructions: AutoVAULT V3 will manage a TSM v. 3.7 -5.5 server. 

  • AutoVAULT runs on Windows. It can be run on the TSM for Windows Server or from a remote Windows workstation or server. AutoVAULT has been tested with 2000 Pro, XP, 2000 Server, and 2003 Server. AutoVAULT will manage TSM servers running Windows, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, or AIX.

  • You will need to install the TSM administrative command line client and the TSM ODBC driver on the Windows PC. The administrative client is bundled with the TSM backup/archive client, but requires a custom install to select it.  The TSM ODBC driver is a separate install.  The latest clients for both are available from this link.

  • The AutoVAULT installation and configuration instructions are in our manual which you can access here and are also automatically downloaded with the 45 day trial version.

Running AutoVAULT V3  in Test Mode:

In only 15 minutes you can be running AutoVAULT in “Test Mode” ... without interrupting any of your normal operations!

You can now run AutoVAULT in Test Mode if you do not want it to update your TSM server. Since AutoVAULT will not actually change the status of your media when running in Test Mode, some of the report output will not be correct for multiple executions. But you will get a real feel for how easy it is to automate your vaulting, reporting, and disaster recovery with AutoVAULT. To turn on test mode:

  • During Configuration, on the "Server Definition" configuration panel,

  • Check the box next to:
    Run in READONLY, TEST, mode with no TSM updates
